Porto Tourism Portal

GFI has developed the Tourism Portal of Porto, a multi-channel point of access, showing different contents of the city - Visiting, Living, Business and Agenda

From the decision support at an early stage of research on the destination, to the organization of the entire journey and sharing of experiences, the Portal was designed to provide useful information about the different tourist attractions, with georeferenced resources, historical notes and events.

It is possible to build of a complete travel itinerary, with accommodation, food and entertainment, with a customized guide showing all the places to visit in a given period of time. In addition, visitporto.travel is fully integrated with social media, including Facebook, YouTube, Flickr and Twitter.

Solution

ppgastronomiasiteThe Portal was developed in Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server 2010,and the implementation has been divided into three distinct phases. Each of the areas and phases of the project were associated with a specific set of features to be developed. The first momentum resulted in the implementation of "Visiting" and "Calendar" areas, including the structure of a database city tour with geographic information and a databaseof events in the Greater Metropolitan Area Porto.O project was completed in five months by a multidisciplinary team composed of GFI's project managers, web developers and specifically in Sharepoint 2010.

Results

Development of an innovative tourism solution in SharePoint, integrating multiple tools in different channels that allow easy user interaction with Porto and its visitors. Product of high complexity.
